I have tile floors in my kitchen, bathroom and my children's room. I chose tile that was durable and easily cleaned for obvious reasons. I also did not put out that much expense-wise because with three kids I know the tile won't last forever and as they grow the deco in their rooms will be changed. This way, I can replace the tile as we need without losing out on a lot of money.

I think the hardest part of doing home renovations is often deciding what materials is best for your purpose.

Asking questions of the contractor, or home improvement store. They are the experts and can guide you in deciding on the best materials to use on whatever project you may have in mind.

There are many factors to consider when doing any renovations and sometimes the homeowner doesn't realize how one aspect will affect another. It's imperative to get some expert advice, to avoid having to redo a project, and end up spending more money to get the job done.
