Default Buying Homes from Divorcing Couples

Hmmm. I just read something about buyers beware of trying to buy a home from divorcing couples. Now I don't mean to alarm anyone because quite often the transactions go just fine. But sometimes you can get into a bad situation if one spouse is being spiteful and trying to sabatoge the deal either to try and hold onto the marriage or simply for spite.

There are right around one million divorces a year. Most of those couples, or maybe I should say many, have houses that have to be sold.

Often you can find a really great buy because both parties just want to be done with the whole ordeal. Sometimes though it can be like stepping into a war zone.

I wouldn't say avoid these homes as potential flips, just know that things can be delayed for an array of different reasons.

Default Re: Buying Homes from Divorcing Couples

Is sad to think that there are so many marriages per year that end up going sour and ending in divorce. It's a shame really.

Though I would imagine that buying these homes can be something that a house flipper would need to be wary about, because some people are seriously spitful and that is when bad things happen.

Though I will say that if you find one of these homes that both parties of the ending marriage are wanting nothing more but to move on with their lives and things go along smoothly then flipping the house should be fairly easy. Though there are always those who want to make life miserable for others and that is when things can get pretty hairy..

Best of luck to all flippers.
