Default Beginners Do It Yourself

Most of us have built something. Anything from a book shelf to a house. So I'd say it's safe to assume that we all know what screw drivers fit which screws and we all probably know how to use a few power tools. If so you might want to try and take on a bigger DIY project.

Before getting started write up a detailed plan for what you want to accomplish. Drawing may help you as well as a list of supplies.

If this is to be your first home renovation you should start small. Pick one room rather than the whole house and see how that goes before taking on more.

Clear out furniture and make sure you are aware of where plumbing and electrical lines run. Begin with the base of the project. In example the sub-floor. Build yourself up until you are ready for the final touches such as paint.

Your end result should resemble your drawings. Congratulate yourself on a job well done and for saving yourself a ton of money by doing it yourself.

Remember that the internet is a great tool for learning how to do any home improvement project.
