Where is going green going
The amount of green technology sales is in the billions of dollars, actually more than 103 billion dollars just in this year alone. Toshiba along with Samsung who are global leaders have been given accolades from greenpeace for efforts which they have given to the environment. There is much money to be made when being eco friendly. Question is how can we all be sure that the impact of the environmental movement will have a lasting effect? Truth is there is only one way, and that is to change the social mindset and make it the priority. We can not allow going green to simply be a passing fad.
Though over the last several years the amount of waste which has been recycled has drastically increased, this is good news. Though this effect is not because more and more people are wanting to do what is right for our world, is simply that the habits of people are changing. This is what is keeping the movement motivated.
Due to the fast pace that we are all progressing, we are left with masses of left overs of our innovations. More than 425,000 cell phones are exchanged for newer and better almost daily. Granted there are several options everyone has for recycling electonic waste, but the mass amounts of it are daunting.
The going green movement is forcing us all to take a much closer look at our consumption and not just where our eletronics are concerned. Smaller living spaces, energy management control, better lighting, and so much more are becomming more commonplace. Though as places become even more crowded, we will depend more on technologies to help rework the infrastructure of urban life.
Dormitory's and businesses have begun to show much intrest in renewable energy. Even computer companies are investing in solor power developments.
Architects as well have jumped on board and are looking to design better housing or Zero Energy housing.
At the rate our resources are being used it is extremely difficult to guess as to when they will be exhausted, and there is no scheduled time for alternatives to replace them. The choice we are facing now is to either fight over the resources we have to maintain the life styles we are all accustomed to or we can ban together and continue to work for a greener planet, with reasonable consumption and possibly restoration.
The idea of helping to make a greener planet sure sounds better than living on lily pads.
Some habits should be broken, others should be praised.
