Default Upcycling

To upcycle an item simply means to take an old item and once again make it useful for something else around the home.

For example a lamp shade which has seen better days can be covered with wallpaper or even wrapping paper to make it into a lamp shade to match any decor in the house and it doesnt cost the price of a new one.

Using milk jugs to store water in for emergencies or half a dozen other useful uses.

These are examples of upcycling in your home. I know around my home before anything ends up in the trash can we always try to find ways of reusing it. Its not always possible, but as much as possible we do.

A majority of the time most of what most people throw out in the trash we can find at least one other way to use it at least one more time if not more.

Default Re: Upcycling

I saw where it said "Upcycling" and I wondered what in the world is that. I've never heard that term before although it's a good one. I've always said re-purposing lol.

In any case you made a lot of good points. Almost everything that you've thrown out in your trash today could have many other uses. If you stop and think about what you could use an item for you would not only help to save the enviroment but you'd save money too.
