Seafood is going to become a food for rich people only for a while, because of this oil spill. The wildlife that lives amoung the ocean throughout the east coast is going to be hating it for the next year or two at least.

I have3 such a pain in my heart just htinking about the animals that are getting hurt and loosing their lives just because we are to lazy to cut wood for our own heat and to much in a hurry to take a horse and buggy so that we do not need so much oil for gas.

Once again they are sayng that the spill is larger than they originally expected it to be.They are now estimating the spill to be five times the size of that of the Valdez spill.

They still do not have the leak fixed and oil is still spilling out into the ocean in the gulf.North Carolina and states that are more north of them are going to end up seeing the oil wash up on their beaches and this is such a shame.

Another problem that I have heard has cropped up from this oil spill is the fact that sharks are coming in closer to shore in a lot of places.

Not too much danger to people though as no one will be swimming, but never the less they are there and hopefully when the spill is cleaned up they will go back to deeper waters.

Also, I have read where there is a lot of controversy about whether or not to clean up birds etc that have been affected by the spill. I do hope that they dont stop this procedure as some of the birds are on the endagered species list and we need to do all that we can to save them.

So, BP lets get this job done. And stop worrying about what it costs to do it. Save our planet and our aquatic wildlife and have it done with.

You said it flipinout!!!! BP is at fault and they know it and they need to step up and repay all those that lost thier income due to this spill and do something else to help the creatures of the sea and the ones on land that is being affected by this.

I think the spill could have been prevented, they needed to expect anything and be prepared. But they did not and were not. And they should be held accountable.

OMG this shit is getting way out of hand. I can not believe that they would want to stop the cleaning of those poor animals that were caught in the oil spill. That is just darn right wrong to even consider doing something like that.

As for the fact that sharks are coming in closer to the shores, well that is because their home has been tainted with oil and they have no choice. However I would imagine that once they are able to they will leave the shore lines and back out into the deeper waters of their home.

The last I heard about this, was that BP was actually able to get a cap onto the pipe which is leaking the oil, however the bad news is that there is still oil leaking out. Though thanks to the cap there are now about 10,000 barrels of oils being pumped onto a waiting ship on the surface.

This means that there are now at least a few barrels of oil leaking into the oceans. Though this is helpful, however it isn't completely stopping the oil leak which means that the costs of clean up are going to increase and the loss of aquatic life is still going to reach higher numbers.

Kudos to BP for finally at least slowing down the leakage, however you still need to pull your thumbs out of your asses and actually get this shit stopped!!!!!!!

I was watching a broadcast last night on the oil spill and thought that I would give everyone an update on what is and has been going on.

From what I heard people in the gulf area were promised money to help them with living expenses and so on, yet when they went to a claim's center to collect what was promised them, they were turned away hearing that there was a problem with the paper work. Apparently the excuse was that they had recieved the incorrect paper work and could not process the information for people in the area to collect.

Next bit of information that I heard was that there are still around 35,000 gallons of oil being spilled into the ocean every day. This is still a huge leak, and I don't know why they are having such a hard time getting it stopped. I mean come on its been MONTHS!!!!

People in the area are fuming which I don't blame them. I don't live in the area and I am pissed about this shit.

Every gallon of oil that is leaking into the ocean is going to kill more and more aquatic life, make life more difficult on those living in the area as well.

I am of the opinion that BP should also have to reimburse all the fishermen and the costal businesses for their losses because of this oil spill.

There are many families in that area that are going without money for bills etc because they cant carry on their businesses as usual.

So BP, what are your plans for helping these people out?

BP is supposed to be helping out the people in the area, they have set up claim centers in the area for people to go and get money because of this mess. However when the people went to the claim centers for the help that they desperately need, they were turned away because the claim centers had the wrong paper work and could not process everyones claims.
