Some "green" gifts to give.

Some of the nicest gifts I have ever recieved were the hand made ones, and you can make them to. The following gifts are on the "green" order and are simple to make and fun to give.

One of my most favorite are the hand painted terra cotta flower pot my daughter in law makes for me. The pots are first painted then after thorough drying, she hand paints flowers on the pots. These pots are very pretty and add so much to my window sill when the plants are brought in for the winter.

And, if you arent good at handpainting flowers, you can always stencil them on the pots.

Another gift you can give is blends of herbs that you have grown yourself. You can look in cook books for blends that work together, like sage, rosemary and thyme for a cream cheese dip. There are many options but be sure to include a recipe card with the blends and the best use for each one.

You can also give herbal vinegars as a special gift from your house to theirs.

Dont be afraid to be creative, even a beautiful wreath made from the boughs of your own pine trees can be just the thing for someone to hang on their door. And we all know how much caring is put into the handmade gifts we recieve.
