Solar Power Your Home Cheaper
We all know how beneficial solar power is the enviroment and our wallets. The question is why don't we all have solar power panels installed? This is because of the initial costs to purchase them and have them installed. The savings doesn't come until after they are paid for and in place.
What does it cost to buy and install solar panels? It will cost you about $30,000 to $40,000 for an average size home. So even if the panels save you $200 per month on electric, you won't see a financial return for ten to fifteen years.
A company called Solarcity has come up with a different sort of solution to the high cost of the panels. They are leasing them to customers. For about $75 per month you can have installed a 2.8 kilowatt system which adds up to some real savings.
The company does all of the installation work and the customer is guaranteed at least a minimum level of power production. The only requirements are that the house have a large south-facing roof that receives sunlight unblocked by trees or chimneys to receive the guarantee.
There are tax credits available for having solar panels installed at your home.
