Default Re-Purpose with Purpose

I love finding out different ways to re-purpose items and just finding new uses for everyday items. You all have shared a ton with me over the past couple of years and I use many of them all the time now.

Here are a few I haven't heard of until now.

Use foil to protect hardware while painting. In example, if you want to paint the door wrap foil around the knob to protect it from getting paint on it. The foil will mold the knob and won't fall off.

Use apple containers to store Christmas ornaments. Wine boxes and egg cartons work great too.

You can use your old cake stand as a centerpiece candle holder. It's really pretty.

You can use cotton balls as flower plugs. Make your cut flowers last longer by cutting the stems at a 45 degree angle. Next stuff a small piece of cotton ball in the opening. This will help the flower soak up the water.

Great tips. It is nice to find some new ways to use some old stuff. I hate the idea of everything people don't want being just tossed away to fill up our landfills even more. I do try to reuse many things, and I know you can't do that with everything.

Though now I have a new use for those apple containers. Right now my Christmas bulbs are simple packed away in shoe boxes wrapped in newspapers.
