Default Oil Spill News

Finally some good news regarding this horrible oil spill. The oil is no longer leaking out into the waters thanks to a 75 ton cap that has been put into place.

Even though this is seriously good news, still there is going to be a whole lot to deal with because of the need for a massive scale clean up.

Still after seeing this oil spilling into the ocean for the last 90+ days its nice to hear that it has FINALLY been stopped. I do believe that there has been more than 175 MILLION gallons of oil that is now floating around in the oceans or washing up on beaches and other areas.

I feel for those familys who lost loved ones when the rig exploded. If I am correct there were 11 people who perished during that incident sadfully. Though hopefully with the lost lives and the massive oil spill, oil companies will take more and better precautions to ensure that this shit does not happen again in the future.

I know that no one can be prepared for everything, but at least having emergency plans in place is always a good place to start.

This morning I heard that they think the oil may still be leaking somewhere because the gauges aren't showing as much pressure as they think they should. They are now supossed to be looking for a secondary leak. I hope there isn't another leak. Enough damage has been done as it is.
