Default More homeowners going green.

Six percent is the estimate for home built this year. I believe that this is going to be a trend for many years to come. We all want to help the environment and of course save money by making our energy bills lower. We can do both at the same time by using green building methods.
There is an exhibit in Chicago at the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry that is a green home. It uses bamboo flooring and recycled wine bottles in the tiles.
The garden is watered with rain water collected in 300 gallon barrels.
This home uses one half of the energy of a normal home.
It also uses one third of the water typically used in a normal home. I want to go see it but it may be some time before I can. I do know however that I will be checking into some of the products that are used in this home.
I also figure that everytime I remodel my existing home and use green products that I will be helping the environment and myself. I want to save money on my energy bills and will be keeping track of the savings as I make these changes.
