Default Ideas.

Remember when you were a kid and you had to wrap your school books. Those of us who couldn't purchase them cut paper bags and put those on them.

With a little creativity and some markers they looked as good if not better than the store bought ones. This is what we need now when it comes to going green, creativity.

Take the time to think about a situation before you act and run out and buy something. Will the end result be a green one? Recycling is our biggest contribution to the save our planet effort. Don't just throw it away and if you don't have recycling in your neighborhood than try reuse that helps too.

Default Re: Ideas.

We have always tried to recycle here at our house. We reuse as much stuff as we can to keep as much as possible out of our landfills.

For instance we use scrap paper, newspapers, and torn up card board boxes which we save in a big barrel to help start our wood burner. I figure we keep about 5 large garbage bags of paper products a year from going to the landfill.

We reuse coffee cans etc in the garage to store screws, nails etc in. We reuse many of them in a years time. They can also be used to store small toys in so that they are kept in a more orderly fashion.

We reuse containers from the deli to store leftovers in rather than throw the containers out.

We reuse various sizes of tin cans for scoops in say planting soil, cat litter, salt that is used on side walks etc.

Empty pill bottles can be used to store needles, straight pins, and other small objects in.

It just takes, as you said, a little imagination.
