hydrogen cars and stations
These new fueling stations for Hydrogen will be a crucial element in the future of hydrogen cars. With these types of stations being either stand alone or even partnered with present day gasoline stations will be the largest infrastructure in helping our future.
There are more than 20 hydrogen fueling stations in operation right now in California. They are fueling 158 fleet vehicles. There are also 14 more of these stations under construction as well. The very first hydrogen fueling station opened on the 13th of April back in 2004.
Even though there are still a few issues which need to be ironed out when it comes to hydrogen fueling stations, and the relation to the hydrogen car technology. This is mainly due to there being two different types of cars which use two different types of hydrogen fuel. One car uses fuel cells while the other one uses internal combustion engine to burn the hydrogen. For these to become useable nationwide they need also need to work out issues concerning containment, delivery and saftey as well as storage of the hydrogen.
Another bright point in the future of hydrogen usage is the idea that you may be able to use electrolysis at your home to actually fuel your car before you hit the road.
The idea behind the use of hydrogen cars and fuel, is to help us all save our planted. Using this type of fuel will not only improve the quality of the air we all breathe but it will also improve climate as well as health.
Of course this is all still in the future due to various issues the industry still faces, though one day soon hopefully we can all fuel our cars at home, and be on our way to helping save the planet a little more.
