Default Gulf Oil Cap To Be Removed

Check this out. It appears that the Feds are planning to uncap the oil well in the gulf to bring up the broken blowout preventer. They need this piece of equipment to figure out what the hell happened down there that cost 11 people their lives and caused more than 200 million gallons of oil to spill out into the oceans.

Though they expect there to be no more oil flowing freely into the oceans because of the mud and cement that was poured into the well. I just hope that this is correct, because before they never expected anything to go wrong and look what happened!!

Hopefully they will be able to bring up this key piece of evidence without there being anymore oil spilled into the ocean. Which is the last thing that is needed.

I hope they take all the neccessary precautions to prevent another oil spill accident.

By the looks of it on the news updates, the mud and cement should have filled enough of the pipe below the broken blowout preventer, to keep the oil from bursting out again when they take off.

I think they had planned this way before now, but we're just now hearing about it (a need to know thing).

I also believe that this is something that they have been planning on for a while now. Though I just hope that they have been planning it for a long enough period of time that there won't be another accident. I wish that there was a way that they could make sure that there won't be another oil spill when the cap is removed.

Thanks to the first incident there has been enough damage done to the ecosystem and another is not needed.

I do hope that they figure out what the hell happened in the first place that caused all of this to happen. Because if it was human error then some serious steps need to be taken to prevent such carelessness in the future.

Too bad there isnt another way to retrieve the part that they need besides uncapping the well. It was hard enough for them to cap it the first time, and hopefully there wont be a problem when they try to recap it.

I sure hope there isnt much in the way of oil this time too. The damage that has already been done will take years to repair and for everyone in the area to recover from.

Now that I think about it, taking off a defective cap won't hurt anything since it wasn't working properly in the first place.

There has to be hundreds of feet of stopped-up pipe below the cap, so taking it off won't mess up anything.

I bet they'll end up putting a reinforced cap back on once they take the defective one off.
Well, at least that's what I would do.

The cap they are removing is faulty to begin with so removing it shouldn't be a problem. The only thing that I can think of that could go wrong is if the mud and whatnot they stuffed the pipe with breaks loose. That would be a major problem. Hopefully they have enough of it in there to keep it stopped up for the time being.

I do want them to figure out what went wrong so the people who are actually to blame can be brought to justice. Lives were lost here. It's no joke thats for sure.

I am also hoping that there won't be any future problems. There have been human and animals lives lost in the horrible oil spill that took place several months ago.

That is the last thing that we need to have happen once again. Hopefully this time while they are working on this pipe to retrieve the evidence that they need there won't be any complications what so ever.

From what I have read on all of this, is that tomorrow the cap is going to be removed. Though just in case there is another incident of oil leaking out of the pipe, there will be vessels waiting to collect any oil if there is a need. At least this time they are attempting to take steps to prevent another oil spill.

I guess we will find out tomorrow how things go. Keep your fingers crossed everyone!!!

And on top of this, there was another oil well explosion in the Gulf just west of BPs oil spill.

There were 13 crew members on the rig, but only one injury and no deaths.

There go our gasoline and heating oil prices for this winter. This could be really bad for us consumers.

I just heard about this, not many details though. I heard someone was missing. Did they find that person?

This is just horrific. These things effect so many things. It's aweful.

That is messed up, another oil rig explodes in the Gulf and this one is closer to land than the last one.

I looked it up online and only found one mention of it in the Washington Post online post.
They have a film about it, but I couldn't find much else about this new oil rig explosion.

Guess we'll be staying home even more than before.

I'm wondering if this newer oil rig problem is tied to a US oil company?
Maybe that's why it's not all over the news.
