Green electricity.

I recently read an article about a local couple who went green several years ago. They haven't had to pay an electric bill in all of that time. It is important to go green for the planet but saving money at the same time makes it well worth while.

If you’re having trouble finding John Vasko’s house on Burt Road, just roll down your car window and listen for the whoosh of turbine blades as they cut through the air.

Vasko has been living “off the grid” in part because of that turbine for the last 12 years. Along with the turbine that rises above the peak of his roof, two banks of solar panels perched on his roof provide enough electricity to keep 16 golf cart batteries humming in his basement.

Now if we would all do something like this we could live happier knowing we are doing all we can to improve our planet and to save ourselves some cash.

Not having to pay a monthly electric bill would be like heaven here as they run so high.

My question about these peoples way of converting their home to solar and turbine power is how much did it cost them to make these improvements and how long will it take without electric bills for them to break even? Or have they already?
