Default Green bags for fruits and veggies.

Food spoilage has alway been a big problem in any household, and throwing away food is something I have a big problem with, especially with todays prices.

I had seen the advertisements on television about "green bags" and a friend of mine swears by them, so I went out and bought a package of them.

These bags are great and they do exactly what they are supposed to do, they keep fruit and veggies fresh for much longer.

These bags absorb and remove "ethylene gas" which is the culprit that causes food spoilage.

To use these bags, make sure the produce is dry, and if moisture builds up inside the bag, just simply wipe it out.
Put the produce in the bag, fold the end of the bag over and place in the fridge. Dont use ties, as they may damage the bag.

The bags are reusable eight to ten times each, so no great expense there.

You can also use them to keep fresh cut flowers fresh by simply placing a bag over the flowers at night and removing it in the morning.

These bags are well worth the money, worth the cost of the bags, plus the savings in food that might otherwise have to be thrown out.

Default Re: Green bags for fruits and veggies.

This is great to know.....I've seen the advertisements touting the benefits of these bags, but haven't purchased any of them yet. It's nice to know that I won't be wasting my money when I do go buy them.

I really hate buying produce and finding that I must throw it away after only a couple of days in the refrigerator. I don't always have time to run to the store daily for produce and sometimes I buy for several days at a time, this will save me money in several ways....no more rotten produce, less gasoline wasted running to the store to replace it, and also less of my time doing so!
