Go Green with your Christmas Tree
Large tree plantations mostly use pesticides on the trees they sell for the Christmas season. There can be pesticide residue left on these trees that could potentially get onto your skin or into your lungs. It's not known how dangerous the pesticide residue can be to our families.
If you buy your tree from a local farmer, you can simply ask whether or not the trees have been sprayed with pesticides. If you buy from another source, look to see if the tree is certified organic by the Department of Agriculture, or if it's a Certified Naturally Grown tree. The requirements for both are basically the same, being that no pesticides or fertilizers were used, and using sustainable methods to grow the trees.
