Re: Fall lawn care.
Aaaahhh, I love the case for procrastination.
I actually like raking leaves, if the truth must be told. I love how they smell and the sound the rake makes when it combs the grass. I just don't have time to rake while three little munchkins follow me around and crash threw my nice piles.
I have a very ambitious neighbor who blows leaves out of her yard almost every day. So much, in fact, that my three-year-old calls every person using a portable blower my neighbor's name. Now, my neighbor is very considerate--she blows the leaves onto a big pile in her yard and then mows them into mulch that she puts around her shrubs and trees. Her neighbors never have to worry about "leaf transfer".
Occasionally she gets board (or irritated, but she's too nice to say so), and she blows my driveway and yard, too. (Did I mention she's ambitious? And also my hero?). It costs me a plate of cookies that I bake out of gratefulness and guilt (but they are delicious). And it's worth it.
You can't pick your family and you can't pick your neighbors, but I don't think I could have picked a better match in both respects. Here's hoping for strong winds!
