Default Energy savers.

Change over to compact flouresent bulbs. These bulbs save you bunches of money over the year and last a heck of a lot longer than the old ones. I originally was worried about the cost but I haven't had to change a bulb in over 6 months. I normally would have bought several packages of the old style by now.

Turn down your hot water heater. A 20 degree drop in temperature saves you an estimated 6 to 10 percent. This also helps prevent toddlers from getting scalded.

You can save another 8 percent per year by unplugging your chargers when not in use. Cell phone, laptop chargers any of them.

Try a programable thermostat. Having it turn itself down automatically insures lower heating bills. With the cost of fuels now a days this is definately a can do.

These are some of the best ideas. Don't forget to winterize your home. Most energy is lost through leaks around windows and doors.
