Clean with Green
On your dishes, floors, windows, countertops, clothes, your furniture and even floating through the air itself, there are cleaning products. This is whether you are at home, your office, or where ever you are there are cleaning products simply floating in the air that we breath.
Daily we do our duty and fight against the germs and dirt all around us to keep our homes and other surrounds clean. Though the chemicals we use to battle this never ending war, could actually be causing more damage than whats its worth.
Most of the cleaning products which we grew up with are mostly petroleum based. These typs of products not only have enviromental implications but they can also be harmful to your health and those around you.
Rather than using products which are so very harmful, the better choice is to choose those product which are natural and will not only clean your home or your office but will also keep it smelling fresh with out all those toxic chemicals many use today.
Now that everyone is looking into a more green living lifestyle, there are more and more products being introduced which are green. These green cleaning products are biodegradable, made from renewable resources which are not petroleum based, and they are non toxic.
Though if you prefer not to purchase your green cleaning products from a store, then there is a solution for you. Simply mix your own cleaners at home. The use of baking soda and vinegar are both ingredients to a great cleaning product that will keep your home smelling fresh and you will know that it is clean with out causing damage to our planet. For this cleaning product just add some vinegar and baking soda together and add some warm water and you have yourself an all purpose cleaner for your home or for your office.
Sometimes the smallest steps you take toward helping our enviroment can make the biggest impact. By changing how you clean your home, is one of the biggest ways to help. Using green cleaning products in your home, or even mixing up your own products, saves the landfills from spilling over with all those empty hazardous bottles of cleaning products, and you will have a home which is better for us all and cleaned the green way.

Re: Clean with Green
George Foreman has now come out with an enviromentally friendly cleaning product. It has received pretty high marks. We sell this at the store I work at and I intend to give it a try.

Re: Clean with Green
Patricia, the cleaner that you are looking for to use in your home is one that I love because just like you I love the smell of lemons and oranges as well.
In a spray bottle I mix 1/2 water, 1/4 vinegar, and finish off with lemon juice.
I also use small dishes around my home and fill them with baking soda and lemon juice. This makes a great air freshener.

Re: Clean with Green
This recipe for the air freshner can be harmful to cats if large amounts of it are eaten. Though to prevent this from happening in your home, simply pour your homemade air freshner into a small bowl then take an old pair of panty hose and cut the legs off. Use the legs of the panty hose to cover the small bowl and secure them in place with a rubber band. This will keep your pets safe all the while giving your home that wonderful lemon fresh scent.

Re: Clean with Green
That is a great idea. Plus with kids, things get knocked over alot. (At least with my kids lol) The pantyhose would prevent some of the mess if it would get tipped over.

Re: Clean with Green
Saving things like old panty hose can really come in alot of use later in the future, so before you start tossing things away keep them for a few days to see if you can come up with new ways to use these old materials.
Patricia, I am also glad that you liked the idea of covering the bowl with old panty hose. Keeping pets and children as well safe in the home is very important. I am glad you brought your concern for your pets to me.
