Default What type of grass is right for you?

1.Shady areas are notorious obstacles to having green lawns. Among cool-season grasses, fine fescues are the most tolerant of shade.

2.Lawn areas with heavy foot traffic require a tough grass. A mix of Kentucky bluegrass and perennial rye will good for that type of area.

3.Some regions are more prone to drought than others. The new, improved strains of Kentucky bluegrass are relatively drought tolerant.

Common cool-season grasses include

1. Bentgrasses
2. Bluegrasses
3. Fescues
4. Ryegrasses

Common warm-season grasses are

1. Bermudagrass
2. Buffalograss
3. Zoysiagrass
4. Centipedegrass
5.Bahiagrass
6. St. Augustinegrass

Thank you for posting the different types of grasses and their uses.

I live in SE Ohio and sometimes in the summer, we dont get enough rain and the whole yard will turn brown and watering it daily is not an option.

So, it is great to know that there is a drought proof grass we can us so we dont run into the problems again.

In the south Centipede and Ez seed is some of the best grass for the area.I use the entire line of Scotts products in my lawn and I always have a green and beautiful lawn that everyone compliments me on.

I take a lot of pride in my yard and love to use the weed and feed by Scotts,it gets rid of all of the weeds while fertilizing the grass the whole time.I can walk out in my yard bare footed all summer long.I can even let my families babies play in the yard and not worry about them getting hurt on any burrs or anything.
