Default Tips on Peppers

Peppers can be a challenge for some of us gardeners. They love the heat and need lots of sunlight. They are the sunbathing vegetable.

Tips:

1. Inspect the plants before bring them home, check for Aphids and bacterial problems such as leaf spots and stem cankers.

2.Plant them 18-24 inches apart in rows or plant in a mass with 14-18 inches separating each plant in all directions.

3.Picking correctly can save the plant and the crop, if not careful you can damage the plant.

4.You can freeze, can, and drying are ways of preserving peppers.

Peppers have always been a resident in my vegetable gardens and they do exceedingly well. 4 plants will supply me with a whole winters worth of stuffed green peppers and bags of chopped peppers for use in other recipes.

Mostly we grow just the green peppers but a couple years back I planted jalopenas and they went absolutely wild. I also had some banana peppers and they did very well too.

Theres nothing at all hard about growing peppers and their uses are countless.

I love growing peppers in my gardens simply because they are so easy to grow. Though I can not stand the taste of them at all. YUCK!!!!

I have no problem growing them but when they are ready to be picked, I always give them away to friends and family who love to eat them.

Onions are the same way with me. They are easy to grow, don't like eating them, but give them away.

I know I am weird. I am the only one in my family who doesn't like eating these two things.

Oh well guess there is an odd ball in every family...mine just has several .
