Default Sunflower Growth

I am hoping someone here knows something about these beautiful flowers. The reason I am asking is that on one side of my old man's place has a basement wall which is about 8 feet tall and I was thinking a nice tall plant like a sunflower would look good growing along the wall.

Though I know nothing about growing these flowers or if they are difficult to grow or even if they would grow in his area. I am pretty sure that they will grow but I would rather find out for sure before going out and getting them only to find that it is going to be mission impossible.

I have seen these flowers in many pictures and have loved them, though never tried to grow them before. If anyone here knows anything about these flowers I would appreciate you sharing that with me and the rest of us here who also might like to have them.

I have been planting Sun Flowers for years, I just love them, I never have any problems with them, I just plant the seeds like any other seeds, water the ground real good, keep the weeds away, water hen needed, but when weeding be careful not to pull out buds that are starting I have done this when I first started with them, the mammoth sun flower is the best to hide ways and such, and is ver easy to maintain.

This is a good site for information on this flower--http://www.hort.purdue.edu/newcrop/afcm/sunflower.html

Sunflowers are very pretty and really easy to grow but when it comes to the really tall flowers, I like the Hollyhocks.

Hollyhocks are a flower that can be used to hide many flaws, to set off a fence as shown in the above picture and they also look very lovely when planted at the end of your outdoor shed etc.

Both the Sunflower and the Hollyhock are easy to plant and maintain, but as I said, I prefer the Hollyhock hands down.

The Hollyhock is rather pretty to look at and looks like it comes in differnt colors.

This is making my decision a little more difficult now. I am now thinking that I will plant some sunflowers along the side of the house and maybe some of the hollyhock's around the deck.

I am glad that both of these flowers are easily grown and taken care of. I will only be able to take care of them a couple days a week as I am not there all of the time. My old man will water them on occasion, but he refuses to tend to weeds and the like.

He seriously has a green thumb though he doesn't want to be bothered with plants and flowers!!

I guess gardening isn't for everyone.
