Default Saving outdoor plants during winter months.

I live in Ohio as most of you know and we have had a very cold and snowy winter so far.

We live in a very small town that is surrounded by woods and therefore, we have a lot of animals around the area, the most of which are deer by the hundreds.

The other night, I happened to look out my front window and across the street I saw a deer standing in front of the neighbors house eating her plants.

Well, that brings us to keeping the deer out of the plants and shrubs that could be eaten so far back as to kill them.

One way to keep the deer out of these plants is to take chicken wire and form it into a shape that will completely cover the plant and stake it in the ground in late fall to keep it from being moved in any way.

Be sure to make it several inches larger than the plant you are trying to preserve.

You can also buy coyote urine to sprinkle on the surrounding area, this is also supposed to deter any animals that may feel the need to dine on your plants and shrubs.
