Default Our summer project, deck addition.

We will be adding to our deck this summer, making it twice the size it now is. And this will be quite a project in itself but before we do that, I have to completely move one flower bed.

Some plants I will pot, others will have to be moved to the other flower bed temporairly. Or maybe even permanently depending on what we are going to do under the deck.

Right now the plans for under the deck include a concrete pad going the whole length of both decks and then enclosing it with doors added so we can use the under the deck area as a storage area.

The entire length of old and new deck will be under roof and will give me a lot more space for my house plants in the summer time.

I did run across a great deal on plants at Lowes last week, 75% off because they were beginning to look shabby but I brought them home and repotted them all and they are healthy and growing nicely. So now I will have plenty of plants for the whole deck.

We will add other deck furniture when all is done and will have a great place to spend the nice summer evenings when all is done.

Sounds like that is going to be quite the project, but also one that is going to be great and very beneficial to you!

I also like the deals you got on the flowers. That is something that I need to do as well. I haven't yet gone shopping for flowers and it seems like getting them now I can save some money and get some beautiful flowers.

I don't know about your area, but do you have to have a permit to extend your deck? I know in some places people have to have a permit pretty much to do anything inside or outside of their homes.
