Default Making Your own Inexpensive Planters

With just $30.00 worth of materials, you can create several planters, giving them your own personal touch. They can be made in a variety of shapes and sizes, depending on the mold you choose to use.

Planters typically start at $5 and usually cost a lot more—the bigger a pot, the more it costs. So why not make your own inexpensive container, one that can withstand the test of time and the elements? After the initial investment of about $30 worth of ingredients, you can cheaply and easily create several beautiful stone-like planters—called hypertufa troughs—for your garden. And most likely you'll have enough materials left over to make more!

These look so versatile, and easy to make that I wanted to share them with you. I know several of you are very artistic and would perhaps like to try a few.

Thank you for posting this. I believe I will try this as my husband has some concreting to do here at the house and will have some concrete left over that we wouldnt want to go to waste, and we have some leftover wood that we could use to make the molds with.

This would be great at the gate area of the fence in my front yard. Or in my larger flower bed in the back yard. And it will cost us next to nothing to do.

Cool idea and way less expensive than buying premade items.
I love to make my own things for around the house and this
will be a fun project. I didn't know that making this sort of
thing was even possible at home. Great to see that there
are some home projects like this one.
