You can create a high-style garden by doing small projects for under $10. A few crafty ideas that are easy to do will add color and interest to the garden.

Create mosaic pots using a pot, broken pots, tiles, plates or other glass/ceramic items. You may also use shells, beads or any other items that you like. Cover the items up that you want to use if they are not yet broken. ALWAYS protect your eyes with safety glasses. Gently tap the covered item with a hammer to break into pieces. Be sure the pot is clean and dust free. Use ceramic mastic or bondo to attach the pieces.

Another neat idea to use is to make tin can luminaries to light up your garden and patio. Remove labels and lid from normal size tin can. Wash thoroughly. Wear gloves to protect your hands. Use a can opener to create triangle shaped holes around the top and bottom of can. Punch other holes through the can with a hammer and nail creating a pattern of your choice. Set can in a terra cotta saucer and place a candle inside.
