Default Flowering Cacti

I would love to have a small area in my yard for more or less a desert. Though I would like to have some cacti that can survive winter weather, because I'd rather not have to bring them inside through winter. I don't know if I will be able to do this, because I am not sure there are any cacti that can survive cold weather, snow and ice which is something we all deal with here in during the winter months.

I just thought it would be cool to put desert plants around a small water feature we are planning on putting into the yard this spring/summer.

It's not going to be a major project, but the picture I have of it in my mind looks really cool and interesting, which is why I want to do it.

Does anyone here know much about cacti and know of any that I can use in my project that will also handle the weather we get here??
