Flower Garden

I have plans to put in a new flower garden at my old man's place to spruce up the place a bit. it is going to be about 5' X 10'. I already have plans to put some marigolds in there because I have so many seeds and the same goes with Four O'Clocks.

I want more color in there though. I want more reds, pinks, blues, yellows, oranges and so one. Can anyone suggest some flower that would be good to plant? They have to be flowers that can be in direct sunlight because where the flower garden is going in is always in the sunlight!!

What I would really like to have are not only colorful flowers but flowers that have some interesting textures and leaf shapes. I want this to be a beautiful garden for not only he and I to enjoy but the neighbors as well and maybe even some wildlife.
