I believe that happened like in 2006. I had written this about it....
Quote:
Sam Leccima, of "Flip This House" has been accused of fraud and of being a con-artist for allegedly using his friends and family to act as buyers and putting sold signs in front of houses that were not his and were unsold. The repairs that were done and shown on the show were not actually done, just made to look so for television.
Quote:
Leccima, 36, presented himself as a successful real estate investor during the 2006 season of the cable show, which depicted him buying, refurbishing and reselling Atlanta-area homes for profits of $77,000 and more. But Leccima doesn't have a real estate license — it was revoked by the Georgia Real Estate Commission in 2005, with the panel ruling he "does not bear a good reputation for honesty, trustworthiness, integrity, and competence." Now he's under investigation by the Georgia Secretary of State's office for securities fraud.

Reality shows are supposed to be just that... reality. My idea of reality is obviously much different from his. I understand that certain things may have to be done a certain way for tv but it sounds as though he was misleading about everything he had supposedly done on the show. I love these types of shows and I hope that for the most part everything they show us is real and not faked for the sake of ratings.

That is why I simply don't believe everything I see on those types of shows. Don't get me wrong, I love to watch them. As a matter of fact thats (those kinds of shows) what I am usually watching at night when I go to bed. But they make everything look so simple and easy to accomplish and we all know in reality that it's not. Yes they can be done but not in the amount of time they make it seem like. I love watching thos shows though because they give me great ideas that otherwise I would never have thought of.
It's a real shame that the show Flip this House was basically a fake. It makes them all look bad and probably turned a lot of people off from watching them.
