Default Building sold.

I just read an article in my local newspaper that has me wondering. There was a business in downtown that closed several years ago and it has been sitting empty.

The building is being bought by the Downtown Development Authority. They are purchasing it for $30,000 plus closing costs. The wondering is how did they get it so cheap.

I would say that a privite person buying it would have paid alot more for the building and that is why it has sat empty do long.

Now I am hoping that they do something good with this building. The town could use apartments or another business to replace the one that was there. Jobs are few and far between and much needed in the area.

I will try and keep you informed as new information comes to light. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Default Re: Building sold.

Since it was a developing company that bought it, I have to wonder if maybe they might not consider tearing it down and putting something else in its place?

And hopefully if they do, they will put something in there that will open up a few jobs to your area, as I know what the unemployment rate in Michigan is right now and more jobs are definitely needed.

As to housing being created out of the building, that wouldnt be too bad if the owners would take the current economic status of the area into consideration and not charge horribly high rent.
