Default What is most important.

I have been trying to figure out what is most important to staging a home. Is it the landscaping or the interior?

Personally I think that the two work hand in hand. One should compliment the other.

If a person has a southwester themed yard one would expect to see similar in the home.

I also think that crazy things like having everything in pink isn't what you want a potential buyer to see.

The whole point is to make them feel at home and exteme decorating usually throws people for a loop.

I showed a house like this and it was the quickest walkthrough I had ever had. Jeeze.

Pink is probably not the best choice for most people. Neutrals work better to reach most people's tastes.

And I think both are equally important. The first impression happens outside but you want a good impression to continue on into the house.

i believe landscaping is, people see the outside first, so if you want them to even come see the inside the outside has to look good.

Both are equally as important, but having a super looking landscape plan will definitely catch potential buyers eye and they will want to take a look at the inside of the house simply to see if the inside is as great looking as the outside.

Getting buyers to come into the house is the first move toward a sale and to do so, the outside has to catch their eye first.

BOTH!!! I have had buyers be turned off by both bad landscaping and a poorly decorated interior. In today's market everything needs to be right.

I agree! Without making the outside of your home look attractive you are unlucky to get many viewers! However it's then vital to get the inside looking as good to secure the buy! So I would say that both things are equally as important as each other!

Both are important. People don't want to look at a house if the outside is in dire need of repairs, paint, landscaping and what not. I know I sure wouldn't.

Then again a good looking exterior isn't going to get anyone to buy the place if the inside is broken down, dirty and you get the picture. So yes both are extremely important if you want to get the sale and at a price you want.

Since I have been coming to this forum, I notice a lot of things about houses that I never really paid attention to before.

When driving around, I have seen beautiful homes with no landscaping whatsoever and it really takes away from the look of the outside of the house.

When I noticed the first home that didnt have any landscaping, my thought was, wow if someone bought that house, they would have to sink a lot of money into the outside of the home to make it look more presentable and homey.

Personally, that would have been one of the houses that I would have passed up in my search for a home to buy.
