Default What Attracts Buyers

When you are finishing up the renovations and the last touches of a house such as the deco and paint color you have to think about what is going to attract buyers. What is going to make your house more appealing than other houses for sale.

One thing to ensure a good showing is to keep things simple. No clutter, no personal effects, limited art and deco. It's great to give rooms a little style but you don't want so much that the potential buyers can't picture their own style in the rooms.

Another thing is the paint colors that you choose. You might not want to go with plain Jane beige but you don't want lime green either. Instead do a neutral tone and then have an accent wall. Again the reasoning is because you need buyers to be able to picture themselves and their belongings in the space. If you choose over the top colors they might not be able to vision.

I often thought about the colors too while looking for a place to buy several years ago.

I like white or light colored walls, they seem to make a room appear larger. Plus you can paint over them fairly easy with a primer-based paint and get away with one coat.

Another thing that can be touched-up on are the floors.
I noitced dark colored carpeted floors do not look right unless they accent the interior walls or trimming.

There are so many floor color variations to consider.
You could change color or piling of the carpeting for a fresher look, if you're wanting to sell your home.

I watch a few different shows on home improvements, renovations and what not. I have seen some people paint their walls red, brown, green, yellow and other colors as well.

These colors always made me pretty much sick. They just didn't look good at all to me. I prefer to have walls that are of a lighter color but not something that is blinding like yellow.

White, beige and creme colors I honestly believe are the best colors to use when your staging a home for sale. These are of course easy colors to cover over if the new owners wish, and while people are looking at the house they can more easily picture themselves living there.

Now as for carpets, dark colors of course hide the dirt and stuff like that much more eaily than a light colored carpet would, but they do make a room look smaller and in my opinion icky.

I like lighter colored carpets, and if you have light colored carpets and are showing a house for sale, purchase some clear plastic walking mats to allow people to walk through the house with out tracking in a lot of dirt.
