Default Warm Things Up

If you want to stage your home for sale, warm things up. Paint the walls a nice neutral color that is warm and do this through out the house. Add in splashes of color here and there to attract people's eyes to areas you want them to notice.

Of course make sure there is no clutter in the house anywhere. Clutter makes spaces look a whole lot smaller and that is going to turn off buyers.

So clear it out and make it look bigger. Also make sure that everything is clean. That is a huge issue with buyers these days. No one wants to buy a dirty home.

Keep the home decor simple, remove personal photos and collections so that buyers are more easily able to see themselves living in your home. If they can do that it will increase your chances of not only selling the house but also getting a better price for it as well.

I couldn't agree more....neutral colours are a deffinate must.....it's pretty much impossible to go wrong with them! Add a warm touch to your living room by adding a focal wall e.g. 3 cream painted walls with a deep plum colour focal wall. You could then add a few plum coloured accesorises for example a few plum coloured cushions and a vase of artifical plum coloured flowers. Candles are also a very cheap but effect way to make your home more cosy. Hanging a mirror on the wall also will help to make your room appear more spacious and will help to project light around your room.

Hey there Flippinout, thank you!
You are most welcome. I'm really glad you like my ideas....I think I may have watched one too many of those TV decorating shows
I would reccommend a bright red focus wall in the kitchen.....it sounds quite daring but if you have a beach wood kitchen then a red focus wall works really well and gives a real modern and interesting look.

As far for living room tips.....if you have an old fireplace which is out of use add some pebbles and candles to it to give it a modern day makeover and turn your fireplace into a modern focal point of your living room to your potential buyers rather than leaving it as an out of use fireplace!

Welcome to our forum xindigohaze!! I love the candle idea for the old fireplace. I think this would be lovely on a cold winter's night - and even if it didn't produce heat, it would make a person feel warmer!!

Hey missmanors, thank you- it's nice to feel welcome here
I think so as well.....most people mainly use central heating instead of fires these days so why not give the fireplace a modern twist and enable a warm glowing and some what romantic effect to the living room. The good thing about the candle fireplace look is that it can also be used in the summer months to.
I find this show great for giving tips :
