Default The deck.

We have a beautiful deck and I love it. The problem is if
I were trying to sell my home would and empty deck help
sell my home.
I am trying to think of cheap ways to add character to
it. I have thought of hanging plants and fireplaces. I currently
have a plastic and metal picnic table and a glider on it. It is
just very empty looking.
Maybe I can pick some things up in a yard sale to fill it this year.
I just thought that if you don't like how your porch or deck looks
now then maybe you should fix it before you decide to sell.

Default The deck

Perhaps a couple of plastic chairs with cute cushions on them. Maybe some stands with pots of flowers. A few large plants in pots sitting on the floor.

I have a pie rack on my deck that has plants and flowers on each shelf.

Another possibility might be some statuary. A large ceramic angel or something like that. They can always be sprayed with spray varnish to keep them protected from the elements.

I think it would definitly be better to have the deck "dressed up" if you are going to try to sell your home. Flippinout posted some great ideas that would be beneficiary. You could also find some inexpensive outdoor throw rugs to add an extra touch. Looking for those items at yard sales or even second-hand shops would be fine and save you some money.
