Default Removing Dust

I know that some homes seem to collect dust ve3ry quickly and this is a serious pain when your attemtping to stage a place for sale.

Here are some tips to help you keep dust at bay. Even though dust can not be eliminated from a home it can be reduced or made more easily to get rid of.

First off let's talk dust. Most people believe dust is nothing more than small particles of dirt that is tracked into a home on shoes and such. This isn't the truth. Most dust is actually fibers from clothes ( even clothes hanging in a closet) pet dander and hair and of course skin which is why it is impossible to really eliminate it from a home.

Though here are some tips that will help make sure that dust is more managable to deal with.

1. clothing in a home that isn't worn often, place it into a garmet bag. This will keep the fibers falling and adding to the amount of dust.

2. Keep the closet floors clear of everything as this will make cleaning them easier. When closet doors are opened everyone stirs up an invisable cloud of particles which settle though out the are creating a layer of dust.

3. items stored on shelves in the closet, are better off being placed into plastic storage containers to make cleaning easier.

4. if the home cooling system or furnance uses forced air, then upgrading the filter for that system will help filter out more dust particles in the home. This will help to reduce the amount of dust in the home.

5. Pet baths are another way to help control pet dander in the home as well.

6. clean bedding at least once per week also helps to control dust and store blankets and sheets into plastic bags or storage containers.

7. When dusting dont use feather dusters and like things. Use a dampened rags or dusters that used static to trap and hold dust. Feather dusters simple distribute dust to other places instead of cleaning it up.

8. Pillows of any type, furniture cushions, area rugs and other small fabric items all should be taken outside and given a good beating the dust out of them. Also washing curtains is also a must.

All of these tips will help reduce the amount of dust in any home and will make the home more sightly as well as making breathing more easy!!
