Default Interior Decorating

I have always been interested in interior decorating. I think it would be a lot of fun to be able to go into someone else's house and have free reign to redecorate. I never went into interior decoring mainly because there just isn't enough need for people with that training where I live. Very few people around here would pay someone to decorate for them.

Sometimes I think it is better to have fresh eyes come in and say this is the right color, this would look better over there and so on. I have walked into many people's homes and pictured how much better things would look if they changed colors and so on. I myself am sure I could use a fresh perspective for my own house.

It's like we look at the same stuff everyday to the point that we don't really "see" it anymore.

If I lived in a big city where people could afford to hire a decorator I would definitely look into it. I think it would be a lot of fun.

I understand completely what you are saying about a different perspective, in fact thats what happened to me a couple of weeks ago.

I was doing my spring cleaning, washing walls etc. and my best friend Beth was here, so I asked her opinion on how to rearrange my living room as it had been the same for several years.

This woman can picture in her head what a room would look like when done and gave me an idea of how to rearrange it for a completely different look.

When I was done with the cleaning, and had scrubbed the carpet, I rearranged the room the way she suggested and by golly it looks so much better and, it looks twice the size that it did before.

Shes also great when it comes to color, and has given me some great advice when it comes to repainting and accessorizing a room. The outcome has always been fantastic when I follow what she says.

So yes, getting a different perspective through someone elses eyes can be a real eye opener.

I have always been interested in doing that for a living, but I am like Pippy Longstocking of decor and style.I fell like if I like it then it matches kind of thing.

People do not always agree with what I like, they like to say stuff like that does not match, and girl you have no sense of style do you?

I do not know if I am able to be taught to be stylish and good with decor and all.I wish I have more of a natural talent for this kind of stuff but I just don't.

Do you think that it is possible for a person to be so far gone that you can not teach them style and decor?
