Default Garbage Disposals's

When you think of staging you think of furniture, wall colors and things like that. One thing that is often forgotten about are things like the garbage disposal.

I know not a whole lot of homes have disposals in them but there are some that do.

Garbage disposals can have an aweful smell to them and this would be a huge turn off for anyone interested in the home. So here are a few interesting things I have recently learned about them that can be helpful to anyone who has one.

1. Never use hot water with the garbage disposal. Hot water can cause damage to washers, lube and other small parts. Instead use cold water only to help lengthen the life of the disposal.

2. Keep the blades as clean as possible. Build up damages the disposal so keeping it clean is priority. Now there are costly chemical cleaners you can buy to do this, but why bother? All you need to do is dispose of some ice cubes. This cleans the blades easily and with out expense.

3. Now to deal with the smelliness of a garbage disposal you can take some pure lemon juice and freeze it into ice cube trays and then dispose of them. The ice will clean the blades and the lemon will seriously reduce if not remove that aweful smell. With this one you can take care of two things at one time.

4. Now watch what you put into your garbage disposal. Some things that you may be putting into the disposal may seem harmless but could be causing damage. So before you put anything into the disposal make sure that it is something that isn't going to hurt it.

A clean disposal is going to be attractive to buyers looking for a home and a dirty smelly one is going to have the opposite effect that your wanting.
