Default carpet stains

When you staging a old home for sale there maybe old stains on the carpet that you can not scrub out, or do not have enough time to do, so you can hide them with large area rugs, try to use one that is close to the color of the floor so it does not stand out as much, so potential buyers will not know you are hiding something.

If its a small stain you could use a smaller area rug that could look like it should be there, unless its in a place that would again stand out that there is something wrong.

Depends on how old the carpet is and where the stain is at. If it is in a place where a rug would look dumb and if you have a piece of the carpet left over, just cut out the stain and replace it with the same carpet, you can just glue it down and it will never be seen.

In this situation I would have to say that honesty can be the best policy. If you cant clean the carpet to remove the stain, it may be better to inform those buying the home about the stain.

Ask yourself how you would feel if you bought this beautiful home and when your finally getting ready to move in, you move a rug or what ever and there be this hideous stain?? I would imagine that it would upset you a great deal. I know I would be.

Sometimes being honest about a home's little imperfections is better than attempting to hide it causing problems later.

I would try using oxy cleaner on the stain. If that doesn't work then pull the carpet.

Check and see whats under it,if its hardwood then your good. Replacing it is costly and having the floor bare allows them to buy a carpet and have it laid without tear up and disposal.
