Default After staging is done.

Be sure to take your animals outside when showing the house, as some animals become very nervous when there are strangers around. They can become unruly and jump on people, plus, you dont want to take the chance of a possible injury to anyone.

If you can, board your cats and dogs, and be sure to remove the litter box. This will remove the possibility of odors that may put some potential buyers off.

Be sure, also, to make sure there are no pests in your home such as fleas. Have the house treated if you are in doubt. This will also take care of any spiders etc that may be lurking in the basement.

Check the basement also for cobwebs and remove them. A lot of people are very touchy when it comes to such things. I am married to a man that has a real aversion to cobwebs, and as silly as it seems, he would walk out of a house that has even one cobweb and not go back.

Another thing to consider is any odors that your pet may leave behind. Most pets do leave somewhat of an odor, especially in furniture and carpeting. If the folks who walk through the door looking to buy a home are not animal lovers, the smell, even if it is mild, may send them walking right back out. You can buy pet odor neutralizer fairly cheap and it does wonders. It may be the difference between your home selling or wasting away on the market.
