Default Winter Appeal

Granted with the holidays here, decorating the exterior of a home is common practice and makes a home look nice.

Though soon enough the holidays will be behind us and those decorations will be once again getting pack away for another year. Though there are things that can be done to even increase a homes curb appeal during the winter months ahead of us all.

Things like lights to brighten pathways are a nice way to help brighten things up all the while making it more safe to walk around your home.

Adding a few artifical flowers to a now gone flower garden or into plant pots on a porch are also bright ways to add color and appeal to any home. This is something that I do around the exterior of our home, to help offset all that snow that is sure to come soon enough.

A brightly colored welcome mat is not only a good way to help keep your floors cleaner, add color and of course welcome family and friends to your home.

Of course there is also the option to plant grasses, shrubs and so on in your yard that do well in the winter months to help add even more appeal to your home.

Its a little more difficult to add curb appeal to a home during the winter months because most things outside end up covered in white from the snow, but there are many different things that you can do to still add appeal that will catch anyones eye.

I always try to get hedges and other shrubs that stay green and some even bloom in the winter. Pansies are great to plant for the winter. The snow and cold do not hurt them at all. You will see them all over around here in the winter. Also the china berry bushes are great, and so prety with all the red berries on them.

I have been looking into the China Berry bush, because they do add alot of color to the landscape during the white winters. I also want to get some of that grass. For the life of me I cant think of its name, though it grows really tall.

That would look great along my front porch, so I plan on getting some this spring and planting it. This way it will have plenty of time to grow and get adjusted to my area. Then when winter again sets in, I will still have a bit of color and an eye catcher around my home.

Is it called winter rye grass? You can look up places that sell the china berry bushes online and order you one.

There are some little bushes and "grassy" plants in the flower bed outside of where I work. They look really nice, even in the dead of winter. I want to find out what they are. They would look really good running along side my driveway. It looks so bleak and dreary around here in the wintertime.

I think the grass plant is called Pampas but I'm not sure.

The Broadleaf Evergreen Plant or Japanese Pieris as it is also known is another winter plant and with its bright red berries, adds a splash of red.

And Glory of the Snow will bring a splash of blue to your outdoor scenery.

Iris Reticulata is bound to bring a smile to you face this winter. Its a beautiful plant.

Hope you enjoy all of these.
