Default Tree Help

The exterior of our home needed a little boost. We have a few decorations in our yard but nothing that really stands out.

We also don't have a lot of shade either on the one side of the house, so this spring we are planning on planting some trees to help add some shade to the house and yard (of course after they have grown a bit) and to add some beauty.

Its always a good idea to plant trees when ever it is possible, so that is what we are going to do. Though we are having a bit of trouble deciding on what kind of trees that we should plant here.

We don't really want anything that is going to attract a lot of insects. We considered weeping willows but they tend to attract insects. I am wanting something that will bloom. That would look lovely in the yard.

Of course fruit trees would also be helpful in the yard. Fresh fruit would save us some money when it comes time for grocery shopping.

Can anyone suggest anything that would help us out on this one? We have room in that part of the yard for about 4 trees.

I have a couple of suggestios for you one this one. I love the cherry trees and most of them grow pretty fast.

Also these do not bloom but are very pretty. It is the Japanese Maple. The leaves stay pretty and red all season till frost. They are a very deep red.

Also try plum trees. They have pretty leaves that are purple and red. They bloom in the Spring.

Thanks for these ideas. I have decided that I am going to plant a couple of cherry trees and a plum tree.

The pictures that I have really look at of these two kinds of trees are going to give me everything that I am looking for in my yard.

I also like the ideas of how quickly they will grow. Now I only have to wait until the weather is more stable and get these trees purchased and planted.

Thanks so much for your help!!! These trees are going to look great and we are going to get a lot of benefits out of them.
