Default Star Decking your pathways

Star decking is a great way to add a great appeal to your home, it is a colored spray on concrete. Star decking is a bit on the costly side but does add alot of beauty to the exterior of your home.
Star decking is started by pouring an acid all over the concrete which the star decking is to be applied, followed immediatly by water to prevent the acid from actually eating away at the concrete. This acid is needed to completely clean the concrete and to help the star decking material adhere to the .

Star decking is done with a pattern which uses your choice of multiple colors or a solid color, or can be done with out a pattern and one solid color.

If you choose to use a pattern the initial color which is sprayed will cover the entire area, this color will be the color of the grout, after color is estabilished and area is completely covered, a pattern of your choice will be applied to the area after grout color has dried for about 1 to 2 hours.

Once the pattern is applied to the area and positioned correctly the second color that you have picked will be sprayed over the entire area. Once the area has been covered it will take around 1 hour to 2 hours to dry.

Once dry the pattern will be removed and the grout will be revealed thus adding dementions to your pathway. Once the area has completely dried a star deck sealer is then applied to the entire area. This sealer will make the colors which you have chosen a slightly darker color. Two applications of sealer are usally required to ensure proper weather proofing. The sealer takes around 12 hours to properly adhere before any use is permitted to the area.

This is not a do it yourself project, as it is easily messed up which will add a great deal more to the costs. The hiring of a professional crew is needed.

Here is a picture of the latest pathway that hubby has done. This is one of the many things he does at work. Sorry the picture isnt perfect, but this was taken with a camera phone that does not take great pictures.

Of course this is just one of the many patterns and colors you can choose from. Some even look like stone paths, brick paths and more.
