Default Simple Repairs

More often than not the exterior of a home just needs some simple repairs to make the home look great again.

For example I know that the winter winds caused some of the siding on my old mans house to come lose and even one piece of it to come completely off. This is a simple repair and the house will look much better when it is fixed.

Cleaning things up and trimming bushes and hedges are also a simple fix. When things grow wildly it makes the house look horrible, yet neatly manicured, it will appeal to people.

Let's not forget that even if your home isn't for sale it will effect the value of homes around you, so each person in a neighborhood keeping their homes looking good then the better value people will get should they decide to sell.

Next light fixtures and rusty railings, mailboxes, house numbers etc... these are also simple fixes to make to any home.

It's amazing what a simple pressure washing can do to the outside of the house. And if you don't own a pressure washer you can rent them quite easily for minimal cost. It's so much easier to use a pressure washer rather than using good ole elbow grease!

First impressions are everything and it starts at the curb!

It seems like if one piece comes lose so does many more. It is a good idea to repair the one coming off before it takes more with it.

I couldn't agree more Luv2flip. As I mentioned there were already a couple pieces of siding that have come off and need to be put back into place before things do get any worse.

That will all start being taken care off real soon if all goes according to plan.

With values down now, it is a good idea to do any upkeep on your home, to try to keep the value as high as you can.

Yes I agree. Doing all those repairs that have needed to be done, planting flowers, cleaning up the exterior, replacing faulty outdoor lighting, rusty railings and what not, all make a huge difference in the home and the homes value.

The idea behind it all is to do the work properly for as little as possible while getting that much needed value added to your home.

These exterior things also effect the values of homes around you which is why so many people tend to complain about homes that have gone unkept for long periods of time.

Right now I have been working to update the curb appeal of my old man's place as well as his parents by cleaning up the yards (removing branches and things) trimming rose bushes, power washing the brick and siding, planting flowers and what not.

It all makes a difference.
