Default Perceptions

First impressions are lasting so you have to make the most of it. If you are planning on selling your own home, it may difficult to have a good perspective as far as how the house looks to others. You get so used to seeing the house as it is that you might not notice what changes need to be made to give a good first impression.

One good thing to do is to park away from the house, across the street and really take a good look at what you can see. Then ask yourself, what is your first impression of the house? What are the best features and how can you make the most of them? What do you dislike and how can you fix it?

Another good way to get a good perspective is to take pictures using a digital camera. Walk to where a buyer would park and start snapping pictures there and more as you get closer to the house. You may be suprised at what you will see in the pictures. You may see things that you have simply gotten used to but that may not leave the best first impression on others.

Believe me pictures says a thousand words. You can look at a place and think you see everything there is. then look at the pictures and I will guarantee you will see something you did not notice when you were there.
