Default Overbearing Yard Ornaments

I need to take a picture of the outside of my neighbors house to show you guys. I will be the first to say that curb appeal is extremely important for flipping a house but there sure is such a thing as too much.

I swear they have every yard ornament made within the past twenty years. No, I will do that one better. They have two of every yard ornament made within the past twenty years.

They have so much stuff in the yard that you can't hardly distinct one thing from another! It is way too much!

To each their own and all that but you know, the rest of us have to look at it too.

I suggest that you go with less rather more as far as yard ornaments go.

Default Re: Overbearing Yard Ornaments

I know someone who is like that,he has a toilet with flowers growing out of it,he has old trash cans with holes all through them and plants growing out of them,he has a lot of different cement figures in the yard as well as a water fall and a pond in his front yard alone.

The yard is big but there is way to much stuff in it,you cannot begin to focus one one thing because there is so much there,a lot of people do not even get to notice the pond and water fall because of everything else that he has there.

Wink Re: Overbearing Yard Ornaments

I disagree a little with ya, Flip, regarding the less-is-more mentality with lawn ornaments. I'm more of a none-is-just-right kinda gal.

When I see lawn ornaments or even coy ponds in someone's yard, all I can think of is maintenance. High maintenance. All that stuff needs to be maintained, mowed around, reset during high winds, and constantly identified as not being part of a yard sale. Lots and lots of work. Nothing against the lawn ornaments themselves, mind you. Gnomes are a good lot--they like to travel, are generally happy, and are the only things I know that can pull off those red hats. It's the rest of them (especially those weedy pink flamingos) that I don't trust.
