Low-Cost Curb Appeal
First impressions are everything when you are trying to flip a house. You want potential buyers to be wowed by the property when they pull up to the curb outside. You want to make them want to see more of the place. Here are some easy, low-cost ways to do that.
1. Use symmetry around the front entrance to the house. Have light fixtures installed at either side of the front door. Place the same plants and ornaments on either side as well.
2. Make sure that the entrance door frame is solid and that the window panels are well sealed and in good shape. Also, adding deadbolts for security is a plus and low cost.
3.Replace the existing mailbox with a fresh one if needed. They can become dingy over time and the numbers tend to peel.
4. Dress up the entrance door. You can make the entry door a nive focal point by hanging a wreath or floral decoration.
5.Add lighting along the walkway of the house. Solar fixtures are a very simple way to do this.
6. Place container gardens along the walkway and porch area. This adds a lot of nice color and can easily be done in symmetry.
7. Renew the flower beds. The last thing buyers want to see is a bunch of work that needs to be done. Prune the existing plants and pull the weeds in the flower beds.
8. Window boxes. Window boxes are a great way to dress up the outside of a house and they don't cost much to do either.
9. Outdoor Art. Adding a water fountain, bird baths or sculptures are great focal points and can add value to the property.
10. Shutters and accent trim add a layer of beauty to the house. They are easy to install and don't take a whole lot of time.
