Default I Am Taking Over

Recently I took on a new job as a housekeeper/ childcare giver to a single gentleman, who was in need of help.

Because of the fact that I am in the home most of the time, cleaning and doing what ever needs to be done along with cooking, he (the home owner) informed me that some changes needed to be done to add my own personal touch to his home.

I thought that was very sweet and I was honest with him when I said that the homes decorations were completely mixed up. I dont think that he liked hearing that much but I was honest with my feelings and opinion.

I only said it because there are farm animal decorations every where along with decorations of fruits, veggies, cats, dogs, old pictures, collectable coke a cola products and so on. The entire house is quite busy.

Though he has agreed to make some changes. Just yesterday we removed a good portion of the exterior decorations which were haning on the fence outside and on the garage. The backyard now looks much, much better.

Now I was able to talk him into getting rid of all the cows which he has in the kitchen. I was hoping to also talk him out of the huge cermanic pig and rooster which sit on top of the fridge as well, though so far he isnt budging on that one. LOL.

I figure the kitchen is mine since I do the cooking and the cleaning in there myself. I guess I will just have to wear him down on this one. LOL.

I am just surprised that he is willing to clean things up and make it more of a home that I like to be in. Most people who hire on house keepers would not have made such a suggestion, but he is quite pleased with the work that I do and of course the way I care for the children in the home.

I will try to keep everyone updated on how the decorating is going here. I will also post pictures of everything. I know that when I am done things are going to look alot better and alot less confusing and cluttered.

Ya eyeofngt! we need before and after pics lol. I want to see all this busy stuff going on!

Good luck, it sounds like he is a nice guy though if he is already making changes so I am sure you will have it whipped into shape in no time at all!

Advice:
Take it one day at a time. I wouldn't try to change too many things, too fast. Always keep his opion in mind also.

Well things are changing quite fast around here, though to be honest he does have the last say in everything. Though so far he has loved just about ever single idea that I have had.

His ex-wife decorated this house, and she well how do I say this nicely.....SHE CANT DECORATE!!!! LOL.

This is why changes are happening quickly because he didnt like most of this stuff anyway.

As for before and after pictures, I will be posting them as the projects are completed. Sometime soon the kitchen is going to be completely redone. I already have the before pics ready and will post them along with the after pics, so that everything and everyone can see what happened.

I lucked out on this job, I am spoiled....LOL.
