Flower Garden Blues
For the last several years my sweetie has gone out once ever year and spent around $200.00 or more to make his front yard look good.
He has bought mulch, rocks, plants, plastic and so one to really try to make it look nice and at the same time keep the weeds out.
Though every year the front yard after a few months is covered in weeds and they end up killing off all of the flowers that he has planted.
Next year we plan on ripping everything out of the front flower garden and starting once again from scratch.
Does anyone have any ideas or tips we can use to help us get the flower garden that we really want with out the hassle of weeds killing everything off.
I know weeds will always find their way in, and will need to be delt with, but anything to help reduce the number of them sure would be helpful.
I really want it to look nice out there but I would rather not have to spend that much money on doing it, nor would I want to pull weeds daily out of there either.
We have even considered just concreting the entire area and then simply placing flower pots full of flowers in there. We both like this idea but one problem with that is the gas line to the house runs right under there. If there is ever a problem we would have to break up the concrete to get to the line.
