Default Cutting Steep Hills

I know that most people don't have to deal with something like this, however there are many who do. I have watched people tie rope onto lawn mowers to cut the grass on these hills and that is dangers. I have also seen people wearing cleats to cut these hills which is again dangerous.

My parents have to deal with just such a place when cutting their grass and it really worries me. So I did a bit of research on what can be done to make the hill side area beautiful with out the danger.

The idea that everyone liked the most was a rock garden. So sometime this spring we are going to buy some landscaping black plastic and cover the entire hill, then we will bring in large flat rocks and cover the plastic as much as possible and then of course we will get some filler rocks to place between the larger rocks and completely cover the plastic.

Once this is done there won't be a need to risk life and limb cutting the grass here and it is going to add some serious appeal to the home.

You can also cut slits in the landscaping plastic in order to plant a few shade loving plants to dress up the new look.

You could also used painted rocks to make a design in the middle, or to put your last name in, or even your house number.

Use your imagination, as to the picture you might want to create to perk up your hillside.

We have two big hillsides on either side of our house. My husband wears football cleats and uses a weed whacker.

I really wouldn't mind putting a rock garden in. I have seen lots of them and they look really nice and they are hassle free. Thats what I like, no fuss.
